Pineapple Express co-star of James Franco’s has revealed that the controversial actor ‘went off-script’ in a fight scene from the film – and genuinely bit her on the a*se.

The bizarre revelation came in an interview with Rosie Perez when discussing the Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg film.

Perez starred as a police officer called Carol, and gets into a fight with Franco’s Saul.

For those who haven’t seen the 2008 comedy, Pineapple Express sees a ragtag group, including Saul, a weed dealer, end up on the run after witnessing a crime, with a hitman and police coming after them.

The pair engage in an over-the-top fight scene at the end that ends with Saul hitting her over the head with a wooden plank.

Perez revealed, however, that Franco carried out a bizarre adlib which didn’t make the final film.

She told The Early Show: “I did a lot of it. There’s only two shots with the stunt [double].

“After a while I was like, ‘get rid of the stunt chick. I’m doing it all.’ James Franco and I kind of threw away the choreography, too, and went for it. He went for my butt, too.

“He bit my butt, which wasn’t great and it didn’t even make the movie and I am kind of pissed off about that.”

This reportedly wasn’t the only injury, with New York magazine reporting Seth Rogen fractured his finger during filming.

He said: “It wasn’t that badass. I was just getting up. But I was getting up from doing something badass.”

Director David Gordon Green also said that Franco needed stitches in his head after running into a wall.

Green said: “That’s why he wore a headband a lot of the movie, covering up the stitches.”

Whilst the bite was taken in good spirits, don’t expect a sequel to Pineapple Express anytime soon.

Seth Rogen, co-star and writer on the film, has stated that he will ‘never work with James Franco again’.

Franco has admitted to sleeping with students whilst working as an acting teacher, and was accused of sexually inappropriate behaviour.

Rogen said that, while he initially considered working with Franco again, he changed his mind.

He told The Sunday Times: “What I can say is that I despise abuse and harassment and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it, or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that.

“I look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James, and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now.

“I can say it, um, you know, it has changed many things in our relationship and our dynamic.”Featured Image Credit: Columbia Pictures
