A beloved figure in Hollywood known for her vibrant roles in classics like Young Frankenstein and Tootsie, the news was confirmed by the actress’ publicist, Heidi Schaeffer.
Schaeffer confirmed Garr died on Tuesday morning in Los Angeles following a prolonged battle with multiple sclerosis, per the New York Post.
Garr leaves behind a legacy that is both prolific and profound, marked by a career that saw her light up both the big and small screen.
Born on December 11, 1944, in Lakewood, Ohio, Garr’s journey into the limelight began after she moved from Los Angeles to New York, initially working as a go-go dancer and appearing in six projects with Elvis Presley in the 1960s.

Her first speaking role came in 1968 with Head, a film featuring the Monkees and penned by Jack Nicholson.
Garr quickly became a familiar face on television, gracing shows such as Star Trek, The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, and The New Dick Van Dyke Show. However, it was her role as Inga in Mel Brooks’ 1974 comedy horror Young Frankenstein that catapulted her to stardom.
That same year, she appeared in The Conversation directed by Francis Ford Coppola, and followed it up with a role in Steven Spielberg’s 1977 hit Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

The 1980s brought further success for Garr with her acclaimed performance in Tootsie, alongside Dustin Hoffman, earning her an Academy Award nomination.
Reflecting on this milestone in her 2005 memoir, she expressed pride and gratitude for the recognition, saying: “The Academy not only knew I existed, they thought I was good!”
Garr continued to charm audiences in films like Mr. Mom, After Hours, and A Simple Wish.

Her television career was equally illustrious, with younger audiences perhaps best recognizing her as Phoebe Buffay’s birth mom in the hit sitcom Friends.
Playing Phoebe Abbott, it truly was a perfect casting, with Lisa Kudrow strongly resembling a young Garr.
In a brave revelation in 2002, Garr shared her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis on CNN with Larry King, having battled the condition in secret for years. She opened up about the advancements in medication, hoping to inspire and uplift others suffering from the disease.

“I think now, the good news is there is a lot of good medicine out there,” she told King. “If I can just help people to feel better.”
Sadly, the star’s health battles continued in 2006 when Garr suffered a brain aneurysm, leaving her in a coma for a week. She miraculously recovered and briefly returned to the acting scene before retiring in 2011.
Her final role was in the TV movie How To Marry a Billionaire.

The entertainment world remembers Teri Garr not only for her extensive body of work but also for her resilience and her ability to make audiences laugh and cry. Her role as a mother and her later advocacy for multiple sclerosis are as defining of her legacy as her glittering career in show business.
She is survived by her daughter, Molly O’Neil, 30, and her grandson, Tyryn, 6.
Our thoughts go out to Garr’s family, friends, and fans at this time.

A woman claiming to be a party planner for Diddy’s now-infamous ‘Freak Off’ parties has shared the rapper’s alleged requirements.
Per BBC News, Diddy – real name Sean Combs – is currently facing federal criminal charges in an alleged sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.

He has pleaded not guilty to those charges but remains behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Following his arrest on federal charges back in September, he was denied bail and will now remain in custody until his trial in May.
His reps have said that the rapper and his legal team “have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process”. However, if found guilty of racketeering, the rapper could face life in prison.
Additionally, as well as his arrest, more than two dozen lawsuits have been brought against Diddy over the last few months – detailing allegations of rape, underage assaults, intimidation, sexual extortion, and more.

Diddy was known for hosting his exuberant parties, where many of the entertainment industry’s biggest names were photographed attending.
However, as detailed in the allegations, Combs would also host so-called “Freak-off” parties at hotel rooms, where various lawsuits claim alleged assaults took place.
As reported by BBC News, prosecutors have accused the ‘Coming Home’ rapper of recording various sex acts during these “Freak Offs”, which federal authorities have described as days-long sex parties involving multiple sex workers. Combs and his inner-circle would book hotel rooms and stock them with narcotics, lubricant, and supplies for recording, per his indictment.
Now, in an interview with the New York Post, a woman claiming to have previously worked as a party planner for Diddy’s “freak offs” has shared his disturbing requirements.
“The girls had to be young and hot, so I always had a scale nearby in case I needed to make sure,” she said, revealing that she kept weighing scales in her car. “The number was 140 pounds, but if a girl was really tall, there was a little bit of discretion involved.”

The unnamed party planner claimed to have worked for the rapper between 2004 and 2005.
“No flab, no cellulite. Not overly pierced or tattooed. No short hair. And the girls had to be young and hot,” she continued, adding that the women were also not asked about their age.
She also opened up about alleged dress code rules, stating that the women could not wear pants, jeans, or flat shoes.
“Every girl had to wear a party dress, preferably very short, just enough to cover her butt cheeks, but no longer than mid-thigh,” she added. “Cleavage showing. And every single one of them had to be wearing stilettos,” with the latter being strictly enforced.
The party planner claimed that she “never stayed around for the Freak Offs and had no idea that these girls were expected to have sex with people”.
“It was don’t ask, don’t tell. At the time, I was really young myself and I honestly thought that we weren’t asking their age because of drinking laws,” the anonymous party planner explained.
The party planner says she was 20 when she was helping to allegedly arrange the parties, and never discussed what happened with the women because nobody “wouldn’t talk about what happened there”.

The woman’s claims come after a singer opened up about her alleged experience at one of Diddy’s “Freak Off” parties.

YouTuber Billy LeBlanc has revealed that he has fulfilled one of his late partner’s wishes – months after he woke up in the hospital to learn she had tragically died.

Over the summer, 44-year-old LeBlanc took to Instagram to share the devastating news that his partner, Natalie Clark, had died after they both became seriously ill after eating raw oysters.
The social media star – who boasts hundreds of thousands of followers on YouTuber – informed his fans of the moment he learned Clark had died.
“I’m sure none of you know but I recently almost died. I was in the hospital for 12 days,” wrote in a heartbreaking post. “Unfortunately Natalie didn’t make it and she passed away. I will always remember how we got lost everywhere together.
“I will always love her and miss her. Be safe and hold your loved ones tight you, never know when it’ll be the last time you see them.”
In a further comment, the grieving boyfriend explained: “We both got vibrio vulnificus from raw oysters.”
Vibrio vulnificus is a bacterium commonly found in warm seawater and brackish waters near river estuaries. It poses a significant health risk to humans primarily through the consumption of raw or undercooked seafood, especially oysters.
The bacterium can also enter the body through open wounds when exposed to contaminated water.
Now, roughly four months after Clark’s death, LeBlanc has revealed that he has fulfilled one of her wishes for him.
In a video post shared to YouTube, LeBlanc revealed that he had finally launched a podcast – something that he says Natalie had always wanted for him.
“One of the things that Natalie always wanted me to do… was to do a podcast,” he explained.https://www.youtube.com/embed/VJayKr24OOQ?showinfo=0
Elsewhere in the video, LeBlanc answered a list of questions that he’d unearthed in an old notebook of Natalie’s.
Questions included: “What made you attracted to me?’ and ‘Why don’t you make YouTube videos consistently?”
In response to the video, LeBlanc’s fans flooded him with comments of support. “Proud of you! Pushing through. God’s got you and all these people who love you,” one person wrote.
“Hoping you continue to heal Billy and hope you continue posting might be therapeutic and we are all here for your and love you,” another added.
Prior to her tragic death, Natalie was introduced to LeBlanc’s online fanbase back in 2020, as she started appearing in his videos and posts as his girlfriend.
Her 17-year-old son, Julian Clark, an aspiring actor, also creates content for his own YouTube channel.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Vibrio vulnificus infections can cause gastroenteritis (with symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain) in healthy individuals.
Cases with more severe infections can result in a high fever, chills, skin lesions, and can progress rapidly, potentially leading to limb amputations or even death. Approximately 20% of cases can be fatal, PEOPLE reports.
LeBlanc originally found social media stardom as a key figure in the Bratayleys, a well-known YouTube family that captured the hearts of many with their lively homelife videos. Their channel featured his ex-wife Katie LeBlanc and their children, Annie, Hayley, and Caleb, sharing snippets of their everyday adventures.
Following his split with Katie, he launched his own channel, Just Billy LeBlanc. He currently boasts 209,000 subscribers on the platform.
Our thoughts continue to go out to Clark’s family and loved ones at this time.
